The cure for cancer has not only been found, but made easy in this video narrated by Mr. Anderson. “HEALING CANCER” is a documentary loaded with current and valid scientific evidence, quotes from various researchers, and interviews with the Americans who have cured themselves. Most of these people felt like victims and had one or more of the following concerns:

•	Frustrated and angry at doctors and hospitals for deliberate deception in the use of drugs, chemotherapy, radiation and surgery as the “cure” for cancer.

•	Sick of being told there is no alternative!

•	Tired of having the wool pulled over their eyes on the lies doctors and the advertising media have delivered.

•	Upset and stressed out over the spiraling costs of their health insurance (over $12,000 per year) which gives them no lasting cure!

•	Worried about how they are going to live or retire with enough strength and money!

Now these same people are calling health insurance “sickness insurance” and some actually have become grateful for the cancer, as it woke them up to the realities of the power of food! Personally, I’m thankful someone has stepped up to the plate to show these people how to take back the responsibility they have delegated to medical doctors. As for myself, I have personally done my research and have practically applied a plant-based diet since 1977. I also studied various scientific reports and assorted testimonials, and after careful review of the “HEALING CANCER” video by Mr. Anderson, am convinced and thereby can emphatically state that beyond a doubt, if one changes one’s lifestyle towards a natural whole foods, plant-based diet and exercises a bit, one will dramatically reduce one’s risk of cancer and heart disease.

Our moment to moment judgment on the food we eat and do not eat is crucial to our health and happiness. The cause of cancer is our ignorance of the universal order in nature. There are detrimental effects of our improper thinking, eating and lifestyle. The cure for cancer is our education and training in and practical application of the healing and beneficial effects of wholesome plant foods provided by Nature/God/Infinity!

Along with this recent video documentary, there are countless books that point to a plant-based diet as the best approach to preventing and even reversing Cancer. Some of the best ones are:

•	THE CHINA STUDY, the most comprehensive study of nutrition ever conducted, by T. Colin Campbell, PhD. and his son Thomas Campbell

Imagine if you would for a moment your weight loss problems gone forever. What would your life be like? What kinds of things would you be able to do as a result?

If you were not overweight you might discover what sitting comfortably in a movie theater chair might feel like, or what it would be like to take a long walk with your grandchildren or enjoy the excitement of participating again in your favorite sport. Even your daily routine of toileting, showering and simply getting dressed would be greatly improved.

Continue to imagine…what kind of dreams could you be fulfilling if weight was no longer a concern for you? How would you feel about yourself? How much money would you save? Imagine never again having to worry about gaining weight or losing weight. On top of that imagine being able to eat all you want and never worry about your weight!

You Can Lose Weight And Always Keep It Off!

I know it sounds too good to be true. However, it’s entirely possible to have all that and more. Eating a delicious whole foods, plant based diet can give you all that, plus the added benefit of promoting excellent health. According to T. Colin Campbell, Author of The China Study, a whole foods, plant based diet reduces your risks of heart disease, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, cancer and many other common diseases.

Obesity Is A Huge Problem

We all know obesity is a huge problem in America today. Yet, there’s probably not one obese person who enjoys being that way. You don’t need the statistics to tell you that 2 out of 3 adults in America are overweight; all you need to do is look around at your friends, family, church members and coworkers.
In 2002 American medical care costs related to obesity were listed at $100 billion dollars. Yes, that’s billion! And believe it or not, that’s $30 billion dollars more than was spent in 1999. Doesn’t it seem absurd that we spend billions of dollars each year on medical care related to obesity when there are millions of starving children in our world!

Promoting The Problem

It is unfortunate that we have a system that promotes obesity. Obesity is promoted by the “super size it”, “more is better”, and “I want it now” mentalities. On top of that, to solve the weight gain problems that our system encourages, the same system promotes “quick fix” weight loss solutions: diet drinks and foods, fad diets, calorie counting, carb counting and food exchange gimmicks.

Now The Solution

Life does not have to be this way. You can experience freedom from weight loss issues and enjoy the best health of your life! You can eliminate all the worries and the guilt associated with wrong eating. You can make eating a joy and a pleasure not a mathematical equation.

According to Dr. Campbell, research has shown over and over again that vegetarians and vegans (people who eat no animal products) are typically significantly slimmer than those who eat the standard American diet. In one study overweight subjects were told to eat all they wanted of foods that were mostly low-fat, whole food and plant-based. In three weeks the subjects on average lost 17 pounds each.

Click to Get Best Calorie Shifting Fat Burning System

Vegetarian Versus Whole, Plant Based Foods

I need to give a word of clarification here. One can be a vegetarian and still be overweight. What happens is some vegetarians simply replace meats with refined grains, pastas, breads and sweets. A whole food, plant-based diet is the key to weight loss and an ongoing healthy lifestyle.

You can eat all you want of plant based foods in their natural forms, i.e. foods that have not been or have been very minimally processed. Some examples would be fresh raw fruits and vegetables, soaked nuts and seeds (not raw or roasted), brown rice, oat groats, various legumes and beans. Examples of foods that don’t fit the whole food criteria are breads, pastries, milk, cheese, products with refined sugars or artificial sweeteners, canned fruits, soups, and vegetables etc.
Making the transition to preparing delicious whole food dishes can be challenging at first. An excellent resource for helping you to do so is Rita Romano’s recipe book, Dining In The Raw. Another great resource is Hallelujah Acres at www.hacres.com.

Make Exercise Part Of Your Plan

We all know that exercise promotes weight loss. One study suggests that only 15 to 45 minutes of exercise a day will result in maintaining a body weight that is 11 to 18 pounds lighter than it otherwise would be. However, that’s not the whole story. There is also some scientific evidence that suggests that vegetarians have on average a higher metabolic rate, meaning they burn more of their ingested calories rather than depositing them to fat. In another study, rats on mainly a vegetarian diet chose to exercise more than rats on a high animal protein diet.

Do you live to eat, or do you eat to live?

Too many calories will make you overweight…and shorten your life. Retain more calories than you burn off each day and you will gain weight. Burn off more calories than you take in each day and you will lose weight. That sounds short and sweet, doesn’t it? But what you eat and how much you exercise and sleep, have a major impact, not just on your weight, but most importantly, on your health!

As I approach what to share with you in this article, I want you to know that recently I’ve completed reading two of the best books on nutrition that I’ve ever seen. The China Study, by T. Colin Campbell, Ph.D. and Eat To Live by Joel Fuhrman, M.D. Both reveal simple, but astonishing facts that your doctor probably has not shared with you and probably isn’t even aware of. The facts could show you how to achieve vast improvements in your health and weight. Not hard things to do, but it does take knowledge and willingness to make changes.

The China Study gives findings from the most comprehensive large study ever undertaken, about the relationship between diet and the risk of developing disease. Eat To Live describes a revolutionary and safe formula for fast and sustained weight loss.

The China Study provided researchers the rare opportunity to study the dietary effect of a mostly plant-based diet. There are major nutritional differences in the Chinese and American diets. Here’s a comparison of the nutrients consumed in China and the United States.

Nutrient China United States

Calories per day 2641 1989

Total fat (% of calories) 14.5 34-38

Dietary fiber (g/day) 33 12

Total protein (g/day) 64 91

Animal protein (% of calories) 0.8 10-11

Total iron (mg/day) 34 18

As you can see, there are huge differences between the Chinese and American diets. The Chinese have a higher overall calorie intake, less fat, more fiber, less protein, much less animal foods, and much more iron.

So, what different results do we see in the health of the Chinese and American peoples? Here are a few facts that may be surprising. In China the blood cholesterol level generally ranges from 90 to 170. In the USA, 170-290. As animal protein intake goes up, LDL (“bad”) cholesterol goes up. As plant protein intake goes up, LDL (“bad”) cholesterol goes down.

Regarding cancer, here’s a quote from Dr. Campbell in The China Study, “nutrients from animal-based foods increased tumor development while nutrients from plant-based foods decreased tumor development.” Overall, cancer is less common in China than in the U.S.

I have pointed out only a couple instances in this article concerning the relationship of diet to health. Its definitely worth noting that both “bad” cholesterol and cancer rates are more common in the U.S. than in China. As the China study progressed it became quite clear that people who consumed diets high in animal protein had more heart disease, cancer, and other diseases than those who consumed diets high in plant protein.

So, you may ask, “What does all this have to do with losing weight?” I’m sure you’ve heard of the “food pyramid.” Dr. Fuhrman, in his book, Eat To Live, recommends a different food pyramid. In it at the top of the pyramid, where the foods are listed that you should “rarely” consume are beef, sweets, cheese, milk, processed food and hydrogenated oil. Poultry, eggs, and oils are allowed only once weekly or less. Fish and fat-free dairy foods can be eaten twice weekly or less. Whole grains, raw nuts and seeds should be 5-20% of calories. Fruits, 20-50% of calories. Beans/legumes should be 10-30% of calories. Vegetables, eaten half raw, half cooked should be 30-70% of calories.

The food pyramid described above is part of Dr. Fuhrman’s plan for substantial weight reduction. The reader might note that it certainly has a similarity to what Dr. Campbell discovered while doing The China study as being best for health, too!

Some of the tips that Dr. Fuhrman lists for losing weight, and keeping it off include

1. Remember, the salad is the main dish: eat it first at lunch and dinner.

2. Eat as much fruit as you want, but at least four fresh fruits daily.

3. Variety is the spice of life, particularly when it comes to greens. You can include the following: lettuce (including Romaine, bib, Boston, red leaf, green ice, celery, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, peppers, onions, radishes, carrots, beets, cabbage, all kinds of sprouts, etc.

4. Beware of the starchy vegetable. Limit cooked high-starched grains and vegetables to one cup a day. For the most part, consider vegetables that are not green to be a high-starch vegetable. Exceptions would be eggplant, peppers, onions and mushrooms.

5. Eat beans or legumes everyday.

6. Eliminate animal and dairy products.

7. Have a tablespoon of ground flaxseed everyday.

8. Consume nuts and seeds in limited amounts, not more than one ounce per day.

So far we have touched only on what you should and should not eat to be healthy and to achieve or maintain your optimum weight. It is extremely important to your health and optimum weight to get regular exercise, adequate sleep and you might want to consider including a good multi-vitamin mineral supplement, too.

Depending on your interests and physical ability there are many ways to exercise your way to better health. To list a few: walking, swimming, bicycling, jogging, running, playing sports, weight training. Choose one or more ways to get exercise that will be aerobic , build strength and burn calories. This will not only help your metabolism, but will actually help you gain energy and lose weight.

Last, but certainly not least, is the importance of getting enough rest and sleep. No matter how healthy a diet you are on, and how much exercise you get, if you are not getting adequate sleep, it will be harmful to your health.

The first myth is middle-age spread is inevitable. This one says as we age, we lose muscle, become more sedentary, all while taking in the same amount or more calories, so we gain weight. Funny, this has not happen to Jack LaLanne, nor to my mother, who lived to 97 and was very active her whole life, nor countless other active people who take care of themselves.

Yes, as we age we lose muscle, but we can reverse that to a great degree with strength/resistance work. Because many people choose to, they become more sedentary as they age. That does not mean anyone has to follow that worn out pattern, and plenty of people today do not.

Same goes for taking in the same amount of calories that we have always taken in. There is no law that says you have to follow that pattern. If you are less active than you once were, you can prudently cut back a couple of hundred calories a day and not endanger your health. In fact many studies show ingesting fewer calories has many positive health effects, including actual life extension.

All these middle age myths are just that, myths from a long ago era, and total hogwash. For those who educate themselves and do not buy into pop wisdom, this is a new world, the most spectacular humankind has ever known. People today perform exercise and athletic feats way past middle age, and into their 90s and beyond. The 101-year-old man from Great Britain who is training to run a full marathon was in the news recently. No middle age spread for these folks! They keep themselves fit and so can anyone, no matter what their age.

Big, fat myth number two is we have to eat meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy products for optimum nutrition, especially protein. This is totally, irrefutably false. And that is not my opinion but the learned conclusion of The China Study and hundreds of reputable scientific studies and dozens of other books. The China Study, by T. Colin Campbell and Thomas M. Campbell, is a thoughtful, scholarly, remarkable book I urge you to read. Animal experiments cited by Dr. Campbell show rats fed low-protein diets were spared liver cancer, and also had lower blood cholesterol, more energy and voluntarily exercised twice as much as the high-protein rats.

Unlearn the lack-of-protein and other myths about eating plant-based foods. If you eat a balanced, plant-based diet emphasizing vegetables and fruits, whole grains, complex carbohydrates, beans, nuts, seeds, legumes and healthy fats, you will get more than enough protein. That has been my experience. And always remember if you are interested in fat loss and healthy leanness: all excess calories, whether they are in the form of fat, carbohydrate or protein, get stored as fat.

The final myth is that it is advisable to take vitamins and supplements. I used to believe this, but I now thoroughly disagree. I have done both — taken vitamins and supplements, and not taken them — and noticed no changes whatsoever in my energy levels, overall health, and resistance to colds, flu, or other contagious conditions. Again, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and his son Thomas explain this complex, fascinating area brilliantly in The China Study.

Of course manufacturers love to produce vitamins and supplements, citing studies that they are beneficial to health and necessary as a form of health insurance, because of our depleted soils. What these products really are, are cash cows and manufacturers have the money to hire doctors, researchers, nutritionists and others to state all the claims are the real deal. Consumers love to buy into this, particularly those who eat a junk diet and try to balance it out by taking supplements and vitamins.

But you do not have to go along with the hype and can reject such claims. You can just as easily accept the evidence that the best way to get all the nutrients you need is by eating a balanced, wide variety of whole, fresh natural foods, more plant-based than animal-based.

One vitamin all legitimate health authorities recommend those eating a plant-based diet get enough of is vitamin B-12. I get mine from nutritional yeast; it is also available in foods fortified with it, and in supplement form. But otherwise, manufactured vitamins and supplements are not a magic potion for good health, and I have personally enjoyed spectacular health for many years without taking any whatsoever.

Free yourself from these three big, fat dietary myths so many people buy into, and your overall health and fitness will benefit.
