Myth #3: “Superfood” bars and supplements keep my body healthy
The Truth: Food companies love to have you believe that their new product is healthier than any fruit or vegetable out there. You think that because the product has “extracts” from 50 different fruits, it must be exactly what your body is looking for.
Unfortunately, health can’t be obtained from any pill, potion, or powder. As you’ll soon see, the healthiest foods on Earth weren’t created in any high-tech lab or a factory.
Myth #4: I need to eat a lot of lean meats to get enough protein.
The Truth: Livestock industry lobbyists love to push this myth. It’s the reason we feel like a meal simply isn’t a meal unless there’s some kind of beef, chicken or pork involved
Fortunately, you can get plenty of top-quality protein without ever going near a steak again. Best of all, you’ll be avoiding many of the livestock-injected hormones and drugs that wind up on your dinner plate.
Myth #5: Milk does a body good.
The Truth: I saved the best for last. The Dairy Council loves to fool you into thinking that your bones will turn to Swiss cheese if you don’t drink milk and eat yogurt every chance you get. Not so. Dozens of studies show that you can get plenty of calcium without ever going near a glass of milk.
This is one of the most insidious myths out there because many experts now point to dairy as a primary contributor to a whole host of chronic health problems.
