The reviews presented here are meant to help you find a practical solution for a lower cost weight reduction plan. In these tough economic times, choosing a program that is both practical and low cost can be a formidable task.
Not everyone needs to join an high cost gym, fitness center, or weight loss diet in order to lose pounds. Many resources are available that are either free or low cost.
A visit to the library, or some research done on the internet can provide a lot of low cost information on dieting. Hiking at a local park or riding a bike on a biking trail can be a great way to lose weight and a way to enjoy the great outdoors at the same time. Make sure to check out to see if you have a nearby community center or a YMCA in your area. These facilities customarily will be less expensive than gym, fitness center, or gym memberships. Some even offer a basic training program with your low cost membership.
Think outside the box when searching for knowledge on the internet. Instead of just the basic search engines, check out sites like youtube.com, digg.com, and stumbleupon.com for some valuable resources as well.
Before making a choice of a weight loss plan, read these summaries about leading diet programs.
Atkins’ New Diet Revolution by Dr. Atkins. A low carbohydrate, high protein diet, this diet program stresses eating meat and some vegetables. Fat intake is also not limited and is in fact encouraged. Grains, fruits, and dairy are restricted, and this diet lacks fiber and calcium. Carbohydrate Addict’s Diet by Rachael Heller, MD, and Richard Heller, MD, published 1993. This weight loss plan advocates low carbohydrate eating. Promotes eating meats, vegetables and fruits, dairy and grain products, however, warns against taking in too many carbohydrates. “Reward” meal can be too high on fats and saturated fats. Not a favorite among diet specialists.
Dash Eating Plan published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Fundamentally designed to lower blood pressure, the diet plan follows the pyramid food guide and encourages high intake of whole wheat grains as well as fruits and vegetables and low-fat dairy. Some dieters think it promotes too much eating to achieve meaningful weight loss. Advocates restricted amounts of fat and protein intake and high on carbohydrates.
Choose to Lose by Nancy Goor and Dr. Ron Goor, a husband and wife team. This weight loss plan is concerned almost entirely on restraining fat intake. You are provided a “fat budget” and have the judgment on how to spend it. There is no stress to watch carbohydrate intake. Eating meat and poultry, as well as low-fat dairy and seafoods is okay. Eating vegetables, fruits, cereals, bread and pasta are also encouraged. It may be problematic to count fat calories every day.
Eat More, Weigh Less published by Dr. Dean Ornish in 1993. Primarily vegetarian fare and strictly low-fat. Limits non-fat dairy and egg whites. Instead of reducing carbohydrates, this program prefers to encourage the use of complex carbohydrates. This diet plan is restricted in calcium and restricts consumption of healthy foods like seafoods and lean poultry.
The Pritikin Principle by Nathan Pritikin. This approach was developed mainly to promote well-being by limiting cholesterol and helping diabetics normalize their blood sugar without taking insulin. That people lost weight was just an added perk. This diet is focused on trimming the calorie density in eating by recommending watery foods that help make you feel full.
There are many other great programs that are available for you to research. There are many ways to lose weight without emptying your wallet at the same time.

Want to know what the Top 10 Diets are? So did we; so we decided to find out what the most searched for diets were on Google – the number one search engine. And here are the top 10 diets, starting with number 10:

10) Ornish Diet – The Ornish diet was developed by Dr. Dean Ornish, as a low fat diet for vegetarians. His plan was to create a diet to help avoid clogged arteries rather than later having to deal with them. His credo is this is your life you should own it and learn to manage your diet and day to day stress.

9) Zone Diet – The Zone diet which was created by Dr. Barry Sears, is a reduced calorie diet, and has one simple premise – use food as fuel. Eating the proper ratio of low carbohydrates, dietary fat, and lean protein you can burn excess body fat and keep it off permanently.

8) Okinawa Diet – First published in 2001, the Okinawa Diet is an outline of healthy habits based on the lifestyle and diet of the Okinawans who have the highest rate of centenarians (40 per 100,000) on earth. With lots of vegetables and complex carbohydrates this diet gets a great deal of its protein from tofu.

7) Genotype Diet – Dr. Peter J. D’Adamo, author of Eat Right 4 Your Type, has done it again, and now identifies six distinct genetic body types. Whether you are a Nomad, Warrior, Explorer, Teacher, Gatherer, or a Hunter, Dr. D’Adamo offers a customized program that compliments your genetic makeup.

6) DASH Diet – was created by the NIH (National Institute of Health) to lower cholesterol and blood pressure without benefit of medication. This diet has lots of fruits and vegetables, with low fat and/or nonfat dairy, beans, fish and poultry, grains, nuts and lean meats. This diet has 28 days of meal plans along with the recipes.

5) Diabetic Diet – Dr. Richard K. Bernstein brings a new low-carb diet plan that has enabled his patients to control their disease by stabilizing their blood sugar without the usual highs and lows and with fewer drugs.

4) Weight Watchers Diet – We first heard of Weight Watchers in the early to mid 60’s. And some 97% of Weight Watcher’s members say they not only like the plan they would recommend the diet to a friend. There are no forbidden foods or required prepackaged food to purchase. With several eating plans, you have lots of choices on Weight Watchers.

3) South Beach Diet – This diet was created by Dr. Arthur Agatston, a cardiologist, for his patients to use to improve insulin and cholesterol and levels. But to his surprise, not only did this low-fat and low-carbohydrate diet improve their health, it also caused his patients to drop a lot of weight.

2) Mediterranean Diet – For 50 years, doctors have observed that people of the Mediterranean area were much less likely to suffer heart disease or strokes. They attribute the region’s health to a diet low in saturated-fat with plenty of whole grains. This reduced fat diet, with lots of complex carbohydrates is one of the easiest to follow.

1) Atkins Diet – Dr. Robert Atkins, whose diet books have been on the bestseller lists for years, is the author of “The Atkins Diet”. Dr. Atkins advocates a high protein weight loss diet which emphasizes the benefits of protein and the dangers of carbohydrates. Still number one, after all these years.

Do you live to eat, or do you eat to live?

Too many calories will make you overweight…and shorten your life. Retain more calories than you burn off each day and you will gain weight. Burn off more calories than you take in each day and you will lose weight. That sounds short and sweet, doesn’t it? But what you eat and how much you exercise and sleep, have a major impact, not just on your weight, but most importantly, on your health!

As I approach what to share with you in this article, I want you to know that recently I’ve completed reading two of the best books on nutrition that I’ve ever seen. The China Study, by T. Colin Campbell, Ph.D. and Eat To Live by Joel Fuhrman, M.D. Both reveal simple, but astonishing facts that your doctor probably has not shared with you and probably isn’t even aware of. The facts could show you how to achieve vast improvements in your health and weight. Not hard things to do, but it does take knowledge and willingness to make changes.

The China Study gives findings from the most comprehensive large study ever undertaken, about the relationship between diet and the risk of developing disease. Eat To Live describes a revolutionary and safe formula for fast and sustained weight loss.

The China Study provided researchers the rare opportunity to study the dietary effect of a mostly plant-based diet. There are major nutritional differences in the Chinese and American diets. Here’s a comparison of the nutrients consumed in China and the United States.

Nutrient China United States

Calories per day 2641 1989

Total fat (% of calories) 14.5 34-38

Dietary fiber (g/day) 33 12

Total protein (g/day) 64 91

Animal protein (% of calories) 0.8 10-11

Total iron (mg/day) 34 18

As you can see, there are huge differences between the Chinese and American diets. The Chinese have a higher overall calorie intake, less fat, more fiber, less protein, much less animal foods, and much more iron.

So, what different results do we see in the health of the Chinese and American peoples? Here are a few facts that may be surprising. In China the blood cholesterol level generally ranges from 90 to 170. In the USA, 170-290. As animal protein intake goes up, LDL (“bad”) cholesterol goes up. As plant protein intake goes up, LDL (“bad”) cholesterol goes down.

Regarding cancer, here’s a quote from Dr. Campbell in The China Study, “nutrients from animal-based foods increased tumor development while nutrients from plant-based foods decreased tumor development.” Overall, cancer is less common in China than in the U.S.

I have pointed out only a couple instances in this article concerning the relationship of diet to health. Its definitely worth noting that both “bad” cholesterol and cancer rates are more common in the U.S. than in China. As the China study progressed it became quite clear that people who consumed diets high in animal protein had more heart disease, cancer, and other diseases than those who consumed diets high in plant protein.

So, you may ask, “What does all this have to do with losing weight?” I’m sure you’ve heard of the “food pyramid.” Dr. Fuhrman, in his book, Eat To Live, recommends a different food pyramid. In it at the top of the pyramid, where the foods are listed that you should “rarely” consume are beef, sweets, cheese, milk, processed food and hydrogenated oil. Poultry, eggs, and oils are allowed only once weekly or less. Fish and fat-free dairy foods can be eaten twice weekly or less. Whole grains, raw nuts and seeds should be 5-20% of calories. Fruits, 20-50% of calories. Beans/legumes should be 10-30% of calories. Vegetables, eaten half raw, half cooked should be 30-70% of calories.

The food pyramid described above is part of Dr. Fuhrman’s plan for substantial weight reduction. The reader might note that it certainly has a similarity to what Dr. Campbell discovered while doing The China study as being best for health, too!

Some of the tips that Dr. Fuhrman lists for losing weight, and keeping it off include

1. Remember, the salad is the main dish: eat it first at lunch and dinner.

2. Eat as much fruit as you want, but at least four fresh fruits daily.

3. Variety is the spice of life, particularly when it comes to greens. You can include the following: lettuce (including Romaine, bib, Boston, red leaf, green ice, celery, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, peppers, onions, radishes, carrots, beets, cabbage, all kinds of sprouts, etc.

4. Beware of the starchy vegetable. Limit cooked high-starched grains and vegetables to one cup a day. For the most part, consider vegetables that are not green to be a high-starch vegetable. Exceptions would be eggplant, peppers, onions and mushrooms.

5. Eat beans or legumes everyday.

6. Eliminate animal and dairy products.

7. Have a tablespoon of ground flaxseed everyday.

8. Consume nuts and seeds in limited amounts, not more than one ounce per day.

So far we have touched only on what you should and should not eat to be healthy and to achieve or maintain your optimum weight. It is extremely important to your health and optimum weight to get regular exercise, adequate sleep and you might want to consider including a good multi-vitamin mineral supplement, too.

Depending on your interests and physical ability there are many ways to exercise your way to better health. To list a few: walking, swimming, bicycling, jogging, running, playing sports, weight training. Choose one or more ways to get exercise that will be aerobic , build strength and burn calories. This will not only help your metabolism, but will actually help you gain energy and lose weight.

Last, but certainly not least, is the importance of getting enough rest and sleep. No matter how healthy a diet you are on, and how much exercise you get, if you are not getting adequate sleep, it will be harmful to your health.

The first myth is middle-age spread is inevitable. This one says as we age, we lose muscle, become more sedentary, all while taking in the same amount or more calories, so we gain weight. Funny, this has not happen to Jack LaLanne, nor to my mother, who lived to 97 and was very active her whole life, nor countless other active people who take care of themselves.

Yes, as we age we lose muscle, but we can reverse that to a great degree with strength/resistance work. Because many people choose to, they become more sedentary as they age. That does not mean anyone has to follow that worn out pattern, and plenty of people today do not.

Same goes for taking in the same amount of calories that we have always taken in. There is no law that says you have to follow that pattern. If you are less active than you once were, you can prudently cut back a couple of hundred calories a day and not endanger your health. In fact many studies show ingesting fewer calories has many positive health effects, including actual life extension.

All these middle age myths are just that, myths from a long ago era, and total hogwash. For those who educate themselves and do not buy into pop wisdom, this is a new world, the most spectacular humankind has ever known. People today perform exercise and athletic feats way past middle age, and into their 90s and beyond. The 101-year-old man from Great Britain who is training to run a full marathon was in the news recently. No middle age spread for these folks! They keep themselves fit and so can anyone, no matter what their age.

Big, fat myth number two is we have to eat meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy products for optimum nutrition, especially protein. This is totally, irrefutably false. And that is not my opinion but the learned conclusion of The China Study and hundreds of reputable scientific studies and dozens of other books. The China Study, by T. Colin Campbell and Thomas M. Campbell, is a thoughtful, scholarly, remarkable book I urge you to read. Animal experiments cited by Dr. Campbell show rats fed low-protein diets were spared liver cancer, and also had lower blood cholesterol, more energy and voluntarily exercised twice as much as the high-protein rats.

Unlearn the lack-of-protein and other myths about eating plant-based foods. If you eat a balanced, plant-based diet emphasizing vegetables and fruits, whole grains, complex carbohydrates, beans, nuts, seeds, legumes and healthy fats, you will get more than enough protein. That has been my experience. And always remember if you are interested in fat loss and healthy leanness: all excess calories, whether they are in the form of fat, carbohydrate or protein, get stored as fat.

The final myth is that it is advisable to take vitamins and supplements. I used to believe this, but I now thoroughly disagree. I have done both — taken vitamins and supplements, and not taken them — and noticed no changes whatsoever in my energy levels, overall health, and resistance to colds, flu, or other contagious conditions. Again, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and his son Thomas explain this complex, fascinating area brilliantly in The China Study.

Of course manufacturers love to produce vitamins and supplements, citing studies that they are beneficial to health and necessary as a form of health insurance, because of our depleted soils. What these products really are, are cash cows and manufacturers have the money to hire doctors, researchers, nutritionists and others to state all the claims are the real deal. Consumers love to buy into this, particularly those who eat a junk diet and try to balance it out by taking supplements and vitamins.

But you do not have to go along with the hype and can reject such claims. You can just as easily accept the evidence that the best way to get all the nutrients you need is by eating a balanced, wide variety of whole, fresh natural foods, more plant-based than animal-based.

One vitamin all legitimate health authorities recommend those eating a plant-based diet get enough of is vitamin B-12. I get mine from nutritional yeast; it is also available in foods fortified with it, and in supplement form. But otherwise, manufactured vitamins and supplements are not a magic potion for good health, and I have personally enjoyed spectacular health for many years without taking any whatsoever.

Free yourself from these three big, fat dietary myths so many people buy into, and your overall health and fitness will benefit.

Ads for diet soft drinks show slender, beautiful women parading in skimpy bikinis, obviously to entice people to buy thee products and make them believe that they can control weight.

But these ads are deceiving since there is no evidence to support these claims, according to Kurt Butler and Dr. Lynne Rayner of the University of Hawaii in “The Best Medicine.”

Experts say that while diet drinks have little or no calories at all, they contain the artificial sweetener saccharin that may stimulate the appetite.

People who regularly take diet sodas can also suffer from calcium deficiency since these drinks contain caffeine and phosphoric acid that promote calcium excretion and damage teeth.

Phosphorus is normally needed by the body for strong bones and teeth and to break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. But the heavy consumption of diet drinks creates an oversupply of phosphorus. This, in turn, leads to the poor development of bones and teeth in children and brittle bones in adults.

Another problem concerns the safety of artificial sweeteners used in these products. Some diet drinks are sweetened with saccharin and aspartame.

Saccharin causes cancer in laboratory animals and only time and more tests will tell whether this is true for humans. But heavy smokers who drink saccharin-sweetened beverages may have a greater risk of contracting this deadly disease, said Drs. G. Timothy Johnson and Stephen Goldfinger of the Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Susan Baker of the Boston Children’s Hospital reports that this controversial sweetener may interfere with blood sugar retention, posing a threat to those with diabetes. Because of this and other possible dangers, Rayner warns against the use of diet soft drinks by youngsters and pregnant women.

Although aspartame has been certified safe by the US Food and Drug Administration, it shouldn’t be taken by those suffering from the enzyme deficiency phenylketonuria (PKU). This disorder is characterized by high levels of phenylalanine in the bloodstream that can cause brain damage.

For a safe diet drink, doctors recommend a popular, sugar-free, calorie-free, inexpensive brand -water. It is filling but not fattening. To stay in perfect shape, take Zylorin, the safe and natural way to lose weight. Combined with a good exercise and diet program, Zylorin will help you burn fat, speed up your metabolism, and control unhealthy food cravings. Visit http://www.zylorin.com for more details.

Recently, a little-known fruit called the acai berry has received incredible amounts of attention in the health industry. The acai berry comes from a type of palm tree found in the Amazon rainforests of Brazil. This wonder fruit is said to have the healthiest nutritional value of all known fruits. This type of berry is characterized by a long thin trunk which may be up to 25 meters in height with several branches on top. Ribbon like leaves hang from each branch characterizing that of a palm tree. The acai berry fruit can be found hanging from these branches which are similar to a cluster of blue bottles. The tribesmen pick the fruit by hand with a cut to a specific branch from the top of the tree itself. This fruit appears to be dark purple in color and can be found over the swampy portions of the Amazon. The flavor of acai berry is similar to blueberries with a slight hint of cocoa. Ever since this product gained much popularity, there has been mass production of this wonder fruit. The acai berry can only last for 24 hours before it rots. Thus it must be processed immediately to prevent the decomposition of this fruit. As soon as the acai berry fruit is picked out from the tree itself, there must be an active chain of transportation to seal in and preserve the natural vitamins and minerals of the berry. Acai berry is a new player in the field of supplements and it has unbelievable health benefits. It is no wonder that natives of Brazil have used this fruit as a staple part of the diet. It is packed with essential fatty acids, omegas and proteins for a healthier body. In this way, the acai berry can help in fostering good health through the intake of supplements or the acai berry juice itself. Below are some of the most notable health benefits. * Increases energy levels * Aids in digestion * Lowers cholesterol levels * Packed with free radical fighting antioxidants * Detoxifies the body * Slows signs of aging * Weight loss Acai berry juice can be consumed in moderation on a daily basis without fear of any adverse side effects. Unfortunately, there are two drawbacks to acai berry juice: cost and poor quality juice products. Acai juice can be very expensive due to its 1 day life span before decomposing. Not to mention, the acai berry is only found in the rainforests of South America, notably Brazil. Secondly, many juice products contain a small amount of acai and the remainder is made up of other popular fruit juices. With that said, for the majority of us who want to add the acai berry to our diet regimen, taking an acai supplement would be a better alternative. Whatever you choose, discover the path to a healthier you with the acai berry.

Everyone knows that bananas are good for you. The potassium in this fruit has been known to lower blood pressure and improve heart health. However, recent studies have shown that there are certain other exotic fruits which pack an even bigger health punch than bananas. Fruit not only improves our health but it also provides our bodies with essential nutrients and weight loss properties.

Vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants are just some of the essential nutrients we gain from fruit consumption. However, recent studies show that certain exotic fruits can impact out heart health tremendously. Fresh figs are one of these fruits. This particular fruit has 891 mg of blood pressure lowering potassium in just one serving of six figs (that is nearly 20% of our daily requirement and double the amount you would find in a large banana). High potassium diets are linked with lower rates of heart related illnesses in healthy adults. Aside from its heart health benefits, fresh fig is also one of the best sources of calcium. Just one serving of figs has as much calcium as ½ a cup of fat-free milk. This is why fig is a great fruit when it comes down to health, weight loss, and healthy snacking.

Another exotic fruit which is known for its heart health benefits is Lychee. This particular fruit has the second highest level of polyphenols of all fruits tested (almost 15 % more than the amount found in grapes). These polyphenols repel foreign invaders from damaging our cells. Certain other studies have also confirmed that this exotic fruit also plays an important role in the prevention of degenerative diseases, such as cancer. So with all of these health benefits, why not try something new and exotic! Not only will consuming these fruit help you achieve better health but it will also help you lose weight and maintain a healthy nutrition.

Food and exercise aren’t the entire diet story. A slew of sneaky, often surprising weight gain never-thought-of 5 reasons could be causing the scale to creep upward.

1] The birth control shot may be handy, but it delivers a excessive dose of progesterone, which can cause craving for food to increase. About seventy percent of women who use it gain weight, with almost half gaining more than five pounds within a year. What’s the solution ? – Why not consider lower-dose options. The Pill may get a bad hit for causing weight gain, but in a recent review researchers found no correlation linking oral contraceptives and added pounds. An alternative low-dose option is the Ortho Evra patch.

2] Carb-free drinks. An increasing number of purveyors of everything alcoholic, any kind of liquor, are trying to surf the low-carb wave. But alcohol has never been a carbohydrate, so carb-free defines all hard liquor. Most beer and wine contain a quantity of sugar (a.K.A. Carbohydrates). Makers of the low-carb versions have tried to reduce sugar content, but they’ve not invented a diet drink: A five-ounce glass of the new-found low-carb One.9 Merlot has 125 calories, and standard red wine weighs in at 105. The solution: Let “low calories,” not “low carbs,” be your principal dieting criteria.

3] Non-natural sweeteners. A latest Purdue University study compared two sets of mice: One group was fed liquid spiked with saccharin, the second group was fed liquid sweetened with natural sugar. When both groups were soon after given a sugary snack, the mice used to to non-natural sweeteners ate more. “Our bodies have ways of judging how many calories a food has from how it tastes, and artificial sweeteners may mess up that natural regulating process,” says Susan Swithers, PhD, associate professor of psychological sciences at Purdue and one of the study’s lead authors. The solution: “We’re not suggesting you give up your diet soda at this point,” Swithers says. But if you consume artificially sweetened products, pay added attention to the calorie count of everything you eat, especially food and drink with real sugar.

4] Missing meals. Research indicates that people who eat breakfast are less likely to be overweight, and that morning meals seem to assist those who’ve lost weight keep it off. It’s not just breakfast, either: Denise Bruner, MD, obesity specialist and former president of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, says that missing meals of any kind results in a “tremendous bout of compensatory hunger.” The solution: Eat small meals all through the day. A steady nutrient intake will keep your blood sugar relatively constant, helping prevent out-of-control binges.

5] Eating out. Super Size Me gave fast food a bad name, but restaurant meals can be just as oversize as a McDonald’s meal. An order of chicken Parmesan and pasta at Ruby Tuesday, for example, “is worth” 1,466 calories ! — more than a Big Mac, large fries, and a Coke combined. What should you do : Eating out is fine, as long as you don’t use it as a frequent license to indulge. Pick your entrees cleverly, and find restaurants that serve smaller portions or doggie bag half your meal.

Being diagnosed with diabetes is a life changing event. One of the ways diabetes can alter a person’s life is by suddenly having to adhere to a strict diet. These diets used to include foods that lacked sugar, resulting in less taste and enjoyment. In more recent years, sugar substitutes and a number of artificial sweeteners became available, but many of these substitutes had health concerns associated with them as well as issues with an aftertaste. Diabetes care has advanced through the years, and products such as Splenda have given diabetics more options both at the supermarket and in the kitchen.

Splenda helps make it possible to manage your diet by avoiding excess sugar and calories without having to sacrifice the taste. Splenda is an artificial sweetener, but it tastes similar to natural sugar. Splenda is created from natural sugar and this is one reason why it is used by individuals with diabetes.

Foods made with Splenda retain the sweet taste while providing the necessary health benefits required by a diabetic. The processing that the sugar goes through removes calories and carbohydrates, leaving the taste of the sugar behind. It also eliminates portions of sugar that causes problems for diabetics. The end-result is a sweetener that has the sweet taste of sugar without causing an increase in blood sugar levels or excessive calories that can lead to unwanted weight gain.

Because of the ever-growing popularity of low-sugar and low-calorie foods, a number of food manufacturers have started using Splenda in their products. Due to the availability of sugar-free and low-calorie alternatives to popular food items, individuals with diabetes are able to enjoy foods that they would otherwise have had to do without, including a number of soft drinks and snack foods. Although sugar-free versions of these items existed prior to the creation of Splenda, artificial sweeteners were used in these items that left a bitter aftertaste that limited their popularity. Now that many of these products are being changed to incorporate Splenda as a sugar substitute, it is almost as though an entirely new section of the market is being opened up for diabetics to enjoy.

With an increase in available food options and the availability of Splenda as a sugar substitute, it is much easier for diabetics to have complete control over their diet when cooking at home. This allows individuals with diabetes to eat foods they enjoy without having to worry about the effect that it may have on their blood sugar. It also presents them with the opportunity to cook a number of their favorite foods that they previously could not enjoy. Products such as Splenda make it much easier to control diabetes, since those with the disease no longer feel like they have to watch everything that they eat and they are able to live a more normal life.

Going out to eat has become more accessible to individuals with diabetes since Splenda became a popular sugar alternative. A number of restaurants have started using Splenda to make low-calorie and sugar-free menu items. The popularity of Splenda in restaurant settings seems to be growing by the day. This enables diabetics to enjoy a meal at their favorite restaurant without worrying about their health. It is even possible for them to order dessert and enjoy the same type of snack items that they enjoyed before being diagnosed with diabetes.

Splenda improves the taste of foods, but this is not the only way that it helps those who are living with diabetes. Splenda is also a no-calorie sweetener, meaning that it can be used to help control weight and prevent excessive weight gain. Since increased weight can be dangerous for diabetics, this property of Splenda can literally be a lifesaver. The use of Splenda not only improves the taste of foods for diabetics, but also improves the overall health benefits of the food.

By incorporating Splenda into a regular cooking routine, it is easy to prepare healthy meals that taste great. A solid diet that is low in calories and free of excess sugar can make controlling diabetes much easier, and can quickly help diabetics control their high blood sugar. When combined with careful monitoring of blood sugar, a healthy diet can reduce or eliminate the need for some or all diabetes management medications and can drastically improve the quality of life for those with diabetes.

If you are diabetic, Splenda and other sugar substitutes are an excellent way to enjoy your favorite foods. They are healthy alternatives that provide exactly what you need to enjoy food. Restaurants and special products at the local grocery store are using sugar substitutes. This makes it easy to enjoy many great foods once again.
